Phonostage for B-100

Phonostage for B-100

Postby hov on Fri Jun 11, 2010 8:59 pm

Hi!

I am trying to find out which phonostage I should fit into my Beat 100 (B-100). Is the DP01 the only alternative, and can this be fitted inside the amp without a DP-drive?
When I bought the amplifier (long time ago) I was told I would be able to install an internal phonostage that was powered by solar cells. This seems appealing, but to my knowledge, the DP01 is not powered by solar cells.

So what I'm wondering is: Does there exist a phonostage (from Densen:) that is powered by solar cells, and that can be fitted internally inside the amp, and if not, what is the best alternative for me to choose.
I am planning to combine the amplifier and phonostage with a Rega P3/24, and wether I choose MM or MC depends on you reply. :)

Thank you!

Hi
I think you have to use a MM-phono board. The MC-board will fit but will not work propperly (Please correct me if I'm wrong Thomas). Also I think all Densen phono boards are driven by solar cells (light from blue LEDs).

We have just launched a new DP-04 MC stage with low noise for use in B-100/B-200/DP-Drive. It is so new, that most of our dealers/distributors do not know it. But inform the dealer about this posting, and let him contact us through the distributor :)

Thank you both for your replies!

If I would like to go for an MM-stage, which one should I choose then? The DP-03? With or without the DP-drive (I would prefer to have the board fitted internally in any...)?

I am asking for all these details, as my experience is that dealers/distributors have difficulty providing clear (and coherent) answers on these matters...

Thank you!
